Hello Lurch,
I have started a stand-up comedy open mic at the Yippie Museum (9 Bleecker Street) across from the tombstone for CBGB’s. New York City open mics 10, 20, 30 years ago were actually interesting to watch and I believe that can become something special again.
I have a pipe dream.
Show starts at 7 and runs until 9. There’s usually another show after Venzday Adams if you’re looking to make a night out of it. The Yippie Museum is a coffee shop however so they do not serve alcohol and they close at 11.

Hey, so I did a contest last week and lost, but then got an email a few days later saying I won! Maybe one of the other winners got struck by lightning. I hope they get better soon. Not too soon. Like after 8 PM tonight. Come on out and support! I promise to be good!

Hey all,
I’ve been having a pretty great month bouncing around from place to place, doing shows here and there, hanging out, having fun, beach, lobster, crawfish, meat. It’s all good. Went to New Orleans, Santa Fe, back to NY, to Boston, Transcendentalist Television 4 was fantastic, back to NY, up to Maine and now finally back in Brooklyn for an extended period. Again, Dan and I can’t thank everyone enough for making Transcendentalist Television 4: The Show Heard Round The World so amazing. Everyone had a ball and is now officially a member of The New Transcendentalists, even if their title is only macaroni shaker. We’ll be getting videos up as soon as we become intelligent enough to do that. We have them! I swear! Also, in the future you may see some other people contributing content on this web site besides Dan and I. We know everything we say is brilliant, but these other New Transcendentalists are too. Don’t fret!
Also, I’ll be performing on Comedy Party USA at The Pinch in the village tonight at 8 PM. It’s a small contest that I hope to at least have a good set on. So come on out and support, why don’tcha?!

It’s the first of my weekly show Going Steady with Zach Broussard and Zachary Sims. I want people to enjoy it! And I want them to be you!
Tonight we have…
JARED LOGAN
JESSE POPP
DAVID COPE
They are all so, so funny, which is much better than so-so funny.

There was an article written about our show in The Concord Journal. Please check it out. It’s rather well written.

I’m gonna try and have a good time out there tonight and get up four times. First I’ll be going to the Cake Shop open mic where the people are good and the bartender is cool, then to a show called Comedy Heights right by my apartment in Prospect Heights at Abigail Cafe then to The Underground Bar for UG and finally at 11 PM to the PIT (where Transcendentalist Television will be this Saturday at 11!) Stand-up comedy! Half off tonight! Just kidding; all these shows are free.
Here’s a photo from the weekend:

That’s right!
The People’s Improve Theater has asked us to do another show, and we have graciously accepted.
The show’s on Saturday, May 9th at 11pm. Directions to the PIT can be found here.
We have written a brand new episode, packed with great guests. Show three features:
Molly Knefel
Zachary Sims
Comedian Brent James Sullivan
Guitarist Jon Clarke
Who knows, maybe even the Hipster Grifter will show up.
Tickets are only $10, and are for sale at the door or online from Brown Paper Tickets. Use this link, or click the little box on the right side of the main page. It’s a sweet image made by Zeke Shore, and clicking on it will let him know you appreciate him.
It’s mother’s day weekend, so bring your mom, she’ll love it! She couldn’t have asked for a better present.
Come watch Transcendentalist Television. Make something of your entire life.

(I’m not a graphic designer. Usually, that’s Zeke’s job.)

First I’ll be stopping by The Tank for Jonathan Powley’s Comedy Jam at 7:30 to do a guest spot. The Tank is at 354 W. 45th St. and this show costs $5.

I like this show a lot. It’s run by my friends Gabriel Pacheco and Daniel Mahoney. A bunch of comedians do sets and some end theirs with Haikus because the show is called Haiku and it takes place in a delicious sushi restaurant. The show is free, starts at 8 PM and is on E. 4th St. between 1st and 2nd Ave. The restaurant is called Jeollado and is very difficult to spell, in my opinion. There are also cool characters on the walls.

I’ll be performing at Beauty Bar (231 E 14th St.) tonight at 9 PM. The show is run by Jesse Popp and Vince Averill. Two hilarious motherfuckers.
I’ll be doing some Hipster Grifter stuff so it should be pretty fun! Maybe she’ll be there. That might be awkward. She’s probably going to all the best parties these days.

Tonight I’ll be hosting at Three of Cups for Sunday Night Stand Up. It’s at 83 1st Ave. The show is run by RG Daniels and Erik Bergstrom. It’s free, it starts at 8 PM and it’s a really good show that you would enjoy.
